Watch Less TV – UL Tells Parents ... As Staff School Holds Prize-Giving Day

The University Librarian (UL), Dr. (Mrs.) Mulikat Salaam has charged parents to watch less television so they could be good examples to their children. Rather, they should instil in them the culture of reading.
Speaking at the 2012/2013 Prize-Giving Day Ceremony held in the school premises, Dr. (Mrs.) Salaam stated that although Nigeria’s culture does not promote reading, parents should encourage their children to read.
According to her, “Not when they are preparing for examinations but they should read everyday. How can you tell your children to read when you too are glued to the television set for hours?”
